WALKING EAST (Trailer) | Winters in Portugal, watching and capturing Nazaré’s daring surfers conquer the world’s biggest waves, ignited Hannah’s desire to test her limits. Now, with the support of her friend and fellow filmmaker Vincent, she is finally ready for a challenge of her own. Her ‘big wave’ lies not in the ocean, but in the peaks of the Pyrenean High Route – a 750km coast-to-coast hiking trail spanning the French-Spanish border. 

It is the first time either of them has taken on an adventure of this scale, and they approach it with meticulous planning. But reality rarely runs to script, and just days into the mountains, Hannah is forced to confront a stark choice: abandon her dream or continue alone. Her decision draws her into a battle of body and mind on a level she could never have imagined. 

WALKING EAST is an intimate yet cinematic coming-of-age tale that proves courage is not the absence of fear, strength does not always mean being unbreakable, and that sometimes we find what we’re looking for when we give ourselves permission to leave the path we were meant to take.
